UltraGene Assay MonkeyPox Screening

The UltraGene Assay MonkeyPox Screening (RUO) is a real-time polymerase chain reaction (rt-PCR) multiplex test which includes three primer and probe sets designed to screen the emergence of DNA from the monkeypox virus (MPXV) F3L and J2L in extracted DNA from specimens suspected of of MPXV infection, and the Human Ribonuclease P (RNase P) is used as the PCR amplification positive control (Internal Control (IC)) for each well.

DNA is amplified using the real-time PCR instrument. During the amplification process, the probe anneals to a specific target sequence located between the forward and reverse primers. During the extension phase of the PCR cycle, the 5’ nuclease activity of Taq polymerase degrades the bound probe, causing the reporter dyes (FAM, HEX and Cy5) to separate from the quencher dye (BHQ2), generating fluorescent signals (amplification curve or melt curve). Fluorescence intensity is monitored at each PCR cycle.

Design
